cash advance fee barclays
Two bank cards for one Barclays bank account?
I have a credit card with an outstanding balance in Australia and obviously I want to avoid any fees I may be charged with international transfers. Westpac bank and Barclays bank have an alliance where there is no fee when their cash machines are used, so the best way to avoid this fee is to give my parents back in Australia a Barclays bank card and get them to debit the money from my account and then pay off my credit card from there. Thereby avoiding nasty international transfer fees.
My question is will Barclays allow me to have two bank cards for the one account? It’s my everyday account so obviously I want a bank card to access it. Can I get another bank card to send home?
Thanks in advance
I’d want my name on both cards. I’d just send my second back to Australia for them to use. The bank won’t know about my cunning scheme.
Well, you can do it if you name them as authorized users (i.e. their names will be on the account for a short period of time).
EDIT – I don’t think you can have two valid cards at one time. There is always the option of you writing your parents a check for the amount and having them deposit it in their account and then write you a check for the amount…
